Our Patch
We are a group of gourd heads that meet on the 3rd Sat. of the month from 10:00 AM -(till we are done) at Falcon Art Supply in Montevallo, Al. We have a very casual fun filled meetings. We do many different things at our patch meetings including having a structured class , work ingon a project or show and tell what we are currently working on. Gourds from the vine to design!
Gourds come in many shapes and kinds. After they are growen they must dry out and go through a hardening process that takes several months. The outer skin becomes molded and the gourd must be cleaned before anything can be done to it.
Members participate in many local art events, do presentations, teach workshops and enjoy sharing or rather exposing to the public information about gourds. Most members are also members of the Alabama Gourd Society.
